the Site

The purpose of "Math Class for Educators" is to provide a 'one-stop shop' for teachers looking for resources and ideas for teaching math in a way that will engage and motivate their students. The content on this site is directed toward kindergarten to Grade 8 teachers and the Ontario Curriculum is the focus. This site will continually evolve and be updated, in order to stay current to the needs of both teachers and students. The section on "Digital Tools" is especially pertinent, given the value of integrating technology into the classroom.

About Me

My name is Dayna Kristensen. I am a certified teacher with qualifications in Primary, Junior and Intermediate Divisions, with additional qualifications in special education, reading, librarianship and kindergarten. I am entering my 5th year of teaching. The creation of this website was inspired by a course I was taking as part of my Master of Education degree, called "Holistic Approaches to Information Technology". Simply, the purpose of this course was to consider how to integrate technology in a way that is the most meaningful and impactful to our students; a way that considers the 'whole' student. These principles are evident in the content of this website. I am an enthusiastic educator and I am truly committed to helping all of my students succeed. Math is definite passion and I am always on the lookout for ways to improve my practice and engage ALL learners.
